Homecoming is a satirical take on the Chinese paper cutting practice, traditionally meant to bring luck. As such, Homecoming is the opposite of it, wishing death on people, with the idiom 归来去兮. The bodhi leaves have an erosive look, showing a delicate balance between life and death, where items that represent luck are tainted with death. This provides the viewers with a version of death that seems more mysterious and corrosive.
