Plaster blocks and fired porcelain inprinted flowers

Singapore

Stone comprises of 5 carved plaster blocks and thin porcelain pieces which includes a floral motif. The blocks depict both a traditional tombstone and a timer on a digital clock, a reference to a near death accident from my childhood, the 2015 Mt Kinabalu Earthquake. My most personal artwork, the time reflects the total duration of my life should I have passed that day. The flowers embedded in the blocks are symbolic as an offering to the dead, in this case is to my deceased friends. Made in remembrance of them, the work expresses acceptance, and the idea of a predetermined timeline.
